Little Sisters Story
Merit-based scholars follow their dreams
May 13, 2022
In 2021, Little Sisters Fund launched a new program offering merit-based scholarships to graduating Little Sisters who wish to pursue a bachelor’s degree and have demonstrated academic excellence throughout their time as Little Sisters. These scholarships are allowing Little Sisters who otherwise might not be able to afford the tuition and fees associated with higher education to follow their dreams. Many times, our graduates can combine LSF’s merit-based scholarships with other scholarships they have received to lower, and sometimes eliminate, the need for financing their education through student debt. This is incredibly beneficial for many of the Little Sisters who come from lower-income households where paying for higher education is out of reach and carrying debt after graduation would pose an undue burden at the start of their careers. We are incredibly proud of all the Little Sisters who have received these merit-based scholarships. Their hard work and determination, both in and out of the classroom, has served them well so far and we can’t wait to see what they accomplish next! Here are some of their stories.

Atithi is currently studying a Bachelor of Business Administration in Balkumari College under Purvanchal University. She hopes to work in a bank in the future.
“I was thrilled to learn of the selection for this honor and I deeply appreciate the LSF Team for this scholarship. The financial assistance you provided is a great help to me in paying my education expenses which will allow me to concentrate more of my time on my studies, which are going well so far. Because of your generous support, I am one step closer to achieving my dreams. LSF has supported me every step of the way from childhood until now. I hope someday to be able to give back to help other students achieve their goals as you have helped me.”
