Welcome Kelly Beeland to the Board of Directors
This month, we welcome Kelly Beeland to Little Sisters Fund’s Board of Directors. Kelly has been a proud supporter of LSF from day one. When Kelly first learned about LSF, she was saving money to buy her first house. But she immediately started putting aside even more money, so that she could also sponsor a Little Sister and give her the gift of education.
Kelly deeply believes in the value of education for marginalized groups and knows that a good education has the power to change a life. The first Little Sister she sponsored recently decided to pursue a career as a doctor and will be attending medical school in Nepal. Kelly couldn’t be prouder of her Little Sister, who she describes as “an amazing young woman whose life changed and who is now going to give back to the world by becoming a doctor.”
On a personal level, Kelly is a stay-at-home mom to two children (Sam, 8, and Brynn, 5). Prior to this stage of life, she had a career as an Organizational Change and Human Capital consultant in the Federal Government Space. Her clients included the U.S. Postal Service, NASA, Transportation Security Administration, FDA, Customs and Border Protection and the Department of Homeland Security. She spent over 11 years at Andersen Consulting/ Accenture before moving on to Eagle Hill Consulting. At Eagle Hill, she focused primarily on growing the business within the Department of Homeland Security by providing classic consulting solutions in strategy, organizational design, business process design and human capital services. Kelly stayed at Eagle Hill for over five years before making the decision to stay home with her adorable kids while they were still young.
Kelly has a bachelor’s degree from the University of Richmond in Leadership Studies with a minor in Women’s Studies. She lives in Alexandria, VA and volunteers with a few local organizations by serving on their boards or helping with fundraising efforts. In addition to her long-standing dedication to LSF, Kelly brings to the table the capability to understand the underlying issues facing many organizations and a great degree of innovation and creativity in developing solutions.
We are very excited to welcome her to the Board!
